Please
note, the descriptions of our beers on this site have been temporarily
removed, due to a notice we recently received from the Federal Tax & Trade Bureau, which regulates
beer advertising. The notice stated that federal regulations
prohibit language stating or implying the alcoholic content of
a beer, even when describing one beer in terms of another, as
in the case of the description of our Imperial Porter, which
we compared to our regular porter. Terms such as "strong"
or "stronger" are strictly verboten, according to this
notice.
We
take that to mean that our Federal government doesn't trust you
to make informed decisions about the beers you consume and doesn't
want us to provide you with the basic information you need to
make such decisions.
We'll
get new descriptions up as soon as we bowdlerize them, removing
all references to the strength of our beers, relative to each
other. Thanks, Uncle Sam. We're happy you're looking out for
us!
Cheers!
The
Kate Countdown Begins Anew!
If
you weren't able to join us on June 24th for Kate Day, here's
a little sample of what you missed, courtesy of our friends Nancy
& Brian at Altantic
Media.
The other day, over beers and lobsters, Tod revealed the date
and time of the next Kate release, so let the countdown begin!

"A
linchpin in the revitalized core of downtown Portsmouth, NH,
the brewery that bears the name of this old maritime city is
everything a small brewpub should be."
Boston Globe - May, 2006
Got a BIG PARTY? We've got
a BIG TABLE for you. The Brewery's Big Table, located in our
semi-private Ezra LaFleur Room seats up to twenty guests. Custom
built for us by local craftsman Jack Kane, it's the largest restaurant
dining table on the Seacoast. The Big Table is available for
large parties, private functions, meetings and luncheons. Call
ahead (603) 431-1115 or email
us for availability.
At
the Brewery, we can accomodate groups of practically any size.
Call now for information or reservations, or email our functions coordinator.
Do you know
when you're approaching the legal limit? Does one beer put you
near the limit? Two? Three? To separate the facts from folklore,
the Brewers Association has developed an estimated blood alcohol content calculator
to help you understand the relation between consumption and BAC.

What's that
wooden token for?
Every Tuesday at
the Brewery is Community Pint Night. For each beer you buy, we'll donate 25¢
to a charity of your choice. It easy - on your way out the door,
just place the tokens you've received in the yellow wooden box
mounted next to our front door. We'll take care of the rest.
So now you can do good by drinking well.
FUNDS
FROM COMMUNITY PINT NIGHTS ARE CURRENTLY DONATED TO:
- New Hampshire SPCA
- Child Advocacy
Center of Rockingham County
- Sexual Assault
Support Services
- Krempels
Brain Injury Foundation
